It feels like we’re continuously getting updated with news of one block getting demolished, another Hood facing displacement, and new boutique coffee shops.

Some believe this is a much needed change for the Ends. Some believe the Hood’s getting ugly and decrepit. I disagree. It’s just not that simple.

How can the Hood be ugly when it’s filled with so much beauty? Whether it’s deemed ‘pretty’ or ‘ugly’ should aesthetic preferences be the reason why we get displaced?

Come reason with us - not only will we understand why the city changes the way it does; but we can discuss both short-term and long-term solutions to the issues we’re all facing.

Love,

Nabil “The Problem” Al-Kinani
